Noreen Powell started her art career in Buffalo, New York. In 2002 she moved to the Albany area and began teaching art full time. She eventually attended SUNY Albany and obtained her Masters in Education with a concentration in Art, receiving her New York State Teaching Certification.

Long walks and prayer are part of Noreen's creative process. The combination of nature and God's word are inspiration for her paintings and teaching.

Hudson Valley Consortium’s mission is to help families continue home schooling through high school by providing joyful, social, and academically rich experiences for Christian students in grades 5-12. Color the winter landscape and paint from one of your photos or one the instructor supplies to do a snowy scene in a light value range. You will see how to create contrast using colors as well as values.

Painting Roses Like Renoir!

Get to know roses! Observe the shape of a rose, create a sense of form using values and learn a technique to create soft impressionistic edges. Renoir’s Roses will be the inspiration for this class.
